MEET THE COACHES

JAYDEN RYKERS

Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, Jayden was on a bike from four, racing competitively from five and racing at state level from six. As a junior, he came up through the Yamaha and Honda junior development programs, racing against the best young riders in WA.

Jayden grew up as an only child. His mum and dad were hard workers who were often already gone for the day, so from a young age he learned to be self-reliant. As a young teenager, that meant getting himself up, walking a kilometre to the bus stop and making sure he was there on time. Miss the bus, and it was a kilometre walk home to grab the pushbike and ride to school instead. He rarely missed it.

That lesson stuck: be accountable for yourself and do the work. What was drilled into him early was simple — either you do something 100%, or you don't do it at all. It's all in on everything, and it's the same standard he brings to every rider he coaches today.

By 15 or 16, Jayden knew motocross was what he loved and what he was good at. He was already a very strong junior, but he wanted more — to give racing a real shot and turn professional. So he chased that dream.

To chase the sport full time, Jayden moved to Victoria and raced at the highest level in Australia. Along the way he:

  • 13-time State Champion
  • 2nd in the Australian Under 19 MX Championship
  • Multiple overall podium finishes at Australian pro level
  • Rode for Raceline KTM and the Empire Kawasaki factory 450 team
  • Raced internationally in Europe, New Zealand and Indonesia

All up, Jayden spent 23 years in the boots.

Throughout his career, Jayden trained under more than eight different coaches. Each had their own approach — some focused on technique, some on fitness, some on the mental game. He coached alongside his own racing right up until the end of his professional career, and he's also a qualified personal trainer.

That mix of experiences is what shaped MX101. Jayden took the best of every coach he worked with and moulded it into one clear system: the MX101 coaching philosophy and the coach's playbook every MX101 coach now works from.

Jayden started coaching under the name Rykers MX Academy. As demand grew and more coaches joined the team, it became MX101 — a brand built to outgrow any one coach. With 20 years of coaching behind him, Jayden now leads a team with more than 25 years of combined coaching experience.
